Abstract：The paper selects Shanxi Province as a representative of resource provinces and analyses carbon emissions driving forces using PATH-STIRPAT model, based on the 1990—2010 time series data.The results showed that:population, affluence, industrial structure, energy efficiency, and urbanization levelare the main carbon emissions factors of resource provinces.
