The Impact of ST Human Resource Factors on Chinese Local University Patenting-licensing Activities

Abstract:Based on provincial panel data from 2004 to 2010 of Chinese local universities,the paper studies the impact of ST human resource factors on Chinese local university patenting-licensing by empirical analysis.The results showed that the factors related to the quantity and quality of Teaching Research staff and the quantity of RD staff in Chinese local universities can significantly influence the number of university patent application,patents granted and license contracts.The quality of RD staff can significantly influence the number of university patent application,patents granted and license revenues.But only the quantity of technology service staff can significantly positively influence both the number of university license contracts and revenues.
