Abstract：Based on an overview of the performance evaluation policies and technologies at home and abroad, a series of key performance evaluation indicators for Traditional Chinese Medicine research projects were proposed by means of investigations, expert consultations and pilot project surveys.In order to distinguish the performance evaluation standards among different research activities and enhance the applicability of the indicators in practice, Traditional Chinese Medicine research projects were classified into various types referring to the ‘Innovation Development Plan for Traditional Chinese Medicine(2006—2020)’.Pools of evaluation indicators and their application methods were also recommended corresponding to characteristics of each type.The proposed performance evaluation indicators can be utilized to support the performance management of Traditional Chinese Medicine research projects.
