Abstract:New Economic Geography (NEG) takes spatial factors into the general equilibrium as analytic framework, which founds a perfect theoretical fundament for analysis on spatial distribution of economic behaviors, commercial trade and agglomeration.Formulating theoretical models is a common method to research theoretical issues, and there were more new theoretical models since Core-Periphery model brought forward by Krugman. All of these models are the core theoretical contents of NEG.This paper reviews the fundaments, hypotheses, discrepancies and difficulties of these theoretical models, and discusses the future research orientation of NEG.
