Research on Influencing Factors of Scientific and Technological Innovation Capability of Chinese Manufacturing

Abstract:Based on the panel data of Chinese manufacturing industry during 2006—2013,this paper explores the impact of R&D personnel,R&D expenditures,foreign investment,other technical activities’ funds and other factors on the scientific and technological innovation capability of manufacturing.Results based on the whole manufacturing show that: R&D investment has different effects on different scientific and technological innovation outputs; influence of foreign investment in the whole manufacturing can’t be determined;the technology digestion and absorption capacity of our manufacturing industry needs to be strengthened urgently.Based on different types of manufacturing industry,results show that:expenditures for other technical activities have a negative impact on technological innovation capability of labor-intensive manufacturing industry,but an uncertain impact on technological innovation capability of technology-intensive manufacturing industry;foreign investment in capital intensive manufacturing industry is beneficial to scientific and technological innovation ability
