The Effects of Knowledge Spillovers of Industrial Agglomeration on Regional Economic Disparity——Comparative Study on Manufacturing Industry and Service Industry

Abstract：This paper quantitatively estimates the effect of MAR spillovers,Jacobs spillover and Porter spillover on Chinese regional economic disparity with Arellano-Bond GMM estimation methods through panel data of manufacturing and services of Chinese 30 provinces from 2005 to 2014.The research conclusion indicates that:①MAR spillovers,Jacobs spillovers effects and Porter spillovers of manufacturing industry are narrowing Chinese regional economic disparity,while MAR spillovers and Porter spillovers of service industry are expanding Chinese regional economic disparity.②The effect of MAR spillovers,Jacobs spillovers and Porter spillovers of manufacturing and service industries on Chinese regional economic disparity is non-linear,when they cross the threshold of critical values,knowledge spillovers will have the opposite effect.③Compared with coastal areas,inland areas of knowledge spillovers can narrow the economic disparity among regions in China
