Abstract:Different agglomeration modes of manufacturing industry play a crucial role on its innovation efficiency.Based on provincial data of 31 manufacturing sub-industries in 2012—2015,this paper uses the panel data multiple regression model to explore the effect of specialized agglomeration and diversified agglomeration on three types of innovation efficiency,including comprehensive efficiency,pure technical efficiency and scale efficiency.The results indicate that,on the whole,specialized agglomeration and diversified agglomeration both have positive influence on innovation comprehensive efficiency,but their action paths are different.The former has a significant positive impact on pure technology efficiency,while a negative impact on scale efficiency.The latter only has an obvious impact on pure technology efficiency.In the subregion,in the eastern region,the result is similar to that of the whole country.In the central region,specialized agglomeration has no obvious influence on innovation efficiency,while diversified agglomeration impacts on comprehensive efficiency through impacting pure technical efficiency and scale efficiency.In the western region,specialized agglomeration has a positive impact on innovation comprehensive efficiency through influencing scale efficiency.
