Abstract：Based on provincial panel data from 2000 to 2014,this study surveys the effect of technological innovation on the quality of economic growth both theoretically and empirically.The research results show that:on the whole,technological innovation significantly enhances the quality of Chinese comprehensive economic growth.Specifically,on the one hand,technological innovation significantly promotes the efficiency of economic growth,the level of healthy development and social welfare,optimizing industrial structure;on the other hand,technological innovation weakens the fairness of income distribution and widens the wealth gap.This study argues that technological innovation plays an important leading role in the process of promoting high-quality Chinese economic growth.Government decision-makers should vigorously create a policy environment that encourages technological innovation,build a sound basic scientific research system and education system,break the bottleneck of core technologies,continue to advance high-level technological innovation and hence drive high-quality economic growth.In addition,government decision makers should give early warning to the job market in a timely manner,perfect related supporting social security policies,assist employees from related industries in transition and re-employment,and weaken the negative influence of technological innovation on the imbalanced allocation of income.
