Abstract:Based on the trade of high-tech products between China and 54 countries from 2000 to 2016,this paper empirically examines the impact of technological distance on the trade scale of high-tech products in China.In order to test its impact mechanism,this paper further analyses the impact of technological distance on the ternary margin of export and import of high-tech products in China.The results show that technological distance can significantly promote the export scale of China's high-tech products.Its promoting effect is mainly reflected in the expansion margin and quantity margin,but the effect on price margin is not significant.Technological distance can also significantly promote the import scale of China's high-tech products,which mainly comes from the expansion margin,but has no significant impact on the quantity margin and price margin.Therefore,technological distance promotes China's trade in high-tech products mainly by increasing the variety and quantity of China's exports and imports.
