Abstract:The uptake of telework has been slower than predicted,and the impacts of telework on companies and employees are also contradictory in research conclusions.These findings suggest that the diversity of the nature of work and the differences of the telework suitability of job are of important.Based on grounded theory,three main characteristics affecting the telework suitability are confirmed according to in-depth interviews and data collection:the availability of production data,the interdependence of work process,and the visibility of task.The availability of production data is a prerequisite for telework,and the discriminant matrix constructed by the interdependence of work process and the visibility of task can be used to determine the telework suitability of the work more effectively,and then be extendedly used to jobs.This study has guiding significance for the practice of telework,and also provides a theoretical basis for the further research of telework.
