The Influence Mechanism of Patent Strategy on International Entrepreneurship: A Two-Case Study Based on Haier and Huawei

Abstract:This study selected Haier and Huawei,typical representatives of Chinese companies participating in international entrepreneurship,to conduct two-case exploratory analysis.It established a patent citation network (26·367) of Haier Group and a patent citation network (26·703) of Huawei Group,and formed the Influence Mechanism of Enterprise Patent Strategy on Enterprises' International Entrepreneurship.The study found that corporate patent layout could help enterprises to acquire the technical knowledge resources required for international entrepreneurship,and then increase the heterogeneity of resources in the international market.The position of corporate patent cited network had a positive impact on the identification of international entrepreneurial opportunities.Enterprises in the center position could more effectively identify international entrepreneurial opportunities.The density of corporate patent citations had an impact on the use of international entrepreneurial opportunities,and effectively utilized international entrepreneurial opportunities by optimizing resource allocation.Enterprise patent management was conducive to the absorption and transformation of technical knowledge in the international patent network,promoting the development of imitative learning capabilities and independent innovation capabilities,and enhancing the company's international entrepreneurial capabilities.
