Abstract:This paper defines the product range of the new energy industry.The technical complexity is used to empirically measure the dynamic changes of China's new energy industry export technology structure from 2007 to 2016 based on COMMTRADE database.The study found that China's new energy industry exports showed a volatility growth,but the financial crisis and trade barriers had a negative impact.China's new energy industry exports mainly focus on medium to high technical complexity products and high-tech complexity products.The export technology structure is deteriorating and the overall technical level is at the middle of the global industrial value chain.The overall technical level of major new energy exporting countries(or regions)is rapidly increasing.The technological level of Japan,South Korea and Malaysia's new energy industry has been rising faster than China.Finally,it is proposed to make full use of comparative advantages,increase R&D investment,increase the proportion of high-tech complex products exports,enrich the form of international technical cooperation,conform to the“The Belt and Road”initiative,overseas investment and diversified export markets.
