Abstract：Based on the panel data of Chinese manufacturing industry subdivided into 28 industries from 2012 to 2017,this paper uses the systematic GMM method to empirically study the impact of the US import competition on China's manufacturing competitiveness,and analyzes the moderating effect of innovation on import competition and China's manufacturing competitiveness.The research shows that the import penetration rate of the United States on China's manufacturing industry profit margin has inhibiting effect;Innovation has a positive moderating effect,which can effectively reduce the negative impact of the import penetration rate of the United States on the profit margin of China's manufacturing industry;Independent innovation and technology introduction innovation have helped to promote profit margins in China's manufacturing industry,but only independent innovation will help Chinese manufacturing to resist the US import competition.
