Abstract:This paper takes 320 research documents on innovative cities collected in CSSCI database from 2006 to 2019 as samples, and uses bibliometric analysis and text analysis to analyze and sort out the evolution trend, connotation and constituent elements, construction mode and evaluation system of innovative city research. The results show that the research context of innovation-oriented city mainly embodies four development stages:preliminary exploration, steady development, in-depth promotion and continuous exploration. Its connotation includes three aspects and its constituent elements include five aspects:the basic environment of innovation, the core driving force, the main body of innovation implementation, the innovation policy and the innovation goal. Its construction mode includes three types:comprehensive innovation, improvement innovation and guiding innovation, and its evaluation index system includes three types:emphasizing innovation content, innovation process, innovation joint force and urban culture. Finally, it is clearly pointed out that the connotation of innovative city research is out of touch with the evaluation system, and the existing indicators pay too much attention to the elements of innovation, while neglecting the shortcomings of the four aspects of urban development and the direction of improvement.
