Abstract:This paper conducts the exploring study on the growing process of emerging technology firm with the background of 3D printing technology,and presents the growth model of emerging technology firm,reveals the inner mechanism of growing of emerging technology firm.The results show that the growth process of emerging technology incumbent firms embodies the mechanism of internal resource driven—legitimacy driven—exogenous prying.The internal cultivation of chatacteristic technology is a driving factor during seed period.Legitimization strategy is a key factor of break through liability of newness restriction in steady development of emerging technology firm.In the rapid development period,exogenous development strategy of M&A and strategic alliance can expand merging technology firm's niche,and then promote small-medium enterprises growing steadily.The internal mechanism of emerging technology incumbents follows the classic evolutionary paradigm of variation—selection—retention.
