Research on Formation and Evolution Mechanism of Strategies of Patent Commercialization in Chinese Enterprises Under the Background of “Going Global” ——The Case of SGMW

Abstract:The commercialization of patents and other intellectual property rights is increasingly integrated into the process of Going Global.A reasonable strategy will help Chinese enterprises make full use of IPRs resources and improve innovation performance.The research on internationalization theory and international market entry mode since the 1960s has provided new guidance such as monopoly advantage,life cycle,transaction cost and control mode for the strategy construction of patent commercialization.The case study points out that the formation and evolution of the enterprise's patent commercialization strategy is a gradual process,and a holistic approach of environmental uncertainty,complementary resources,strategic target positioning and intellectual property rights resources is the basis for the formation of the strategy,which determines the subject,object,value carrier and type of the strategy (i.e.product strategy,IPRs strategy and hybrid strategy).Chinese enterprises should choose “appropriate”commercialization strategy,and this strategy should be integrated with the strategy of other intellectual property rights such as trademarks and secret.At the same time,it is need to make full use of the large-scale domestic market advantages,promote patent standardization through multiple mechanisms,and improve and enhance the patent commercialization strategy system of Chinese enterprises.
