Distribution and Evolution Analysis of Digital Platform Patent Technology

Abstract:In order to deeply and comprehensively explore the distribution and evolution characteristics of patent technology of digital platform, based on the patent retrieval data of China, the United States, Japan, South Korea, Europe and other countries and regions from 2004 to 2021, this paper starts from the perspective of patent quantity, patent value and patentee distribution.With the help of social network analysis and visual analysis of Gephi software, the paper makes a comprehensive analysis on the evolution of global digital platform patent technology, such as subject evolution, country independent technology evolution and joint technology evolution.The results show the followings.①Huawei shows the strongest R&D vitality, but there is a gap between China's digital platforms and the United States in the number of patent grants, patent value level and focus areas, and more R&D forces need to be absorbed to create digital clusters.②The global digital platform has experienced a stage theme evolution process of“basic technology R&D-parts production-transformation of traditional industries-intelligent construction”.The technological evolution of China, the United States and Europe is more specific, while Japan and South Korea are relatively scattered.Among them, the focus area of China and the United States has a transition period, while the United States“corrects”this deviation earlier than China and continues to conduct in-depth technological exploration in the field of communication.China should maintain the momentum of research and development in the field of communications to strengthen the technological base of digital platforms.③The characteristics of joint distribution network of patent technology of Digital platform in China are emerging, but the trend of large-scale joint is not yet formed.China should enhance the compatibility and integration of technologies, drive the interaction and integration of innovation achievements between core and edge subjects, and create a strategic map with unique competitive advantages in the new round of digital platform innovation.
