Abstract：Bio-economy is built based on biological resources and biotechnology,including the production,circulation and use of biotechnology products and services.Bio-economy is the fourth wave of industrial revolution after the agricultural economy,industrial economy and information economy,and is becoming the new economic growth point.Biotechnology industry is a pillar industry in many countries.The paper is based on the follow-up study to new revolution of science and technology and biological economy for 20 years consecutively,combining with the comparative study to bio-economy and biotechnology development in 29 countries and regions worldwide.Results shows that biotechnology is playing a leading role in the formation of new revolution of science and technology,and numerous technologies is accelerating it.The development of bio-economy has been showing a new and unprecedented trends and features.
