Abstract：On the basis of the global top 2500 enterprises' data in the 2016 Industrial R&D Investment Scoreboard,this paper compared the differences of R&D investment scale,intensity and industrial layout among China,the United States,Germany,Britain,France,Japan and South Korea.It concludes that:First,large multinational companies lead the global R&D activities,while the main source and carrier of R&D are still the developed countries;Second,Chinese R&D activity continues to improve,and has become an important force in promoting global innovation;Third,the gap of R&D intensity between China and developed countries is relatively deep;Fourth,China's industrial distribution has gradually gathered in the high-tech field,but the pharmaceutical and biotechnology enterprises would be in short supply for a long time.
