Abstract：This paper analyzes the global value chain upgrading effects of OFDI,empirically examines the direct effects of OFDI impact on the GVC competitiveness of Chinese manufacturing industry,and examines the mechanism of OFDI to enhance the GVC status.The result show that:OFDI promotes the GVC status of Chinese manufacturing industry through technological progress and service innovation.Different factor intensity of the manufacturing sector can enhance the GVC competitiveness through OFDI.Capital-intensive and capital-and technology-intensive manufacturing industry can enhance the GVC status through technological progress effect of OFDI.Different factor intensity of the manufacturing sector can enhance GVC status through service innovation effect of OFDI.
