Abstract：This paper introduces the concept and classic model of project management maturity,the difficulties in the selection of domestic project management maturity models,analyzes the necessity of evaluation of large science engineering management ability.Considering the characteristics of large science engineering,based on five dimentions including organizational environment,management process,technical management,supervision and project results.The engineering management ability evaluation model is creatively constructed.The evaluation index system of engineering management capability is proposed,and the four-level decomposition evaluation index is refined so as to provide important reference for other similar large science engineering.
