“Siphon”or “Trickle-Down”——The Evolution of Spatial Polarization Effect of Science and Technology Innovation in Central China

Abstract:Based on the current situation of science and technology innovation in central China and taking the characteristic of provincial capital as unipolar core city in the province,this paper constructs the model of concentration degree and polarization degree of science and technology innovation,analyzes the polarization effect of science and technology innovation from the regional and provincial level.From the regional level,the science and technology innovation in the central region shows “medium polarization”and has a rising trend,the provincial capital has a “siphon”effect on non-provincial cities.From the provincial level,Hubei shows “high polarization”,Hunan,Shanxi,Henan and Jiangxi show “medium polarization”,Anhui shows “low polarization”but has a rising trend towards “medium polarization”.The provincial capitals of Wuhan,Changsha,Taiyuan,Zhengzhou,Nanchang and Hefei successively show the influence of “siphon” “siphon and trickle-down alternation” “continuous siphon” “continuous siphon” “siphon and trickle-down alternation”and “siphon”.Furthermore,from the regional level,the suggestion about “input,conditions,output”is proposed.From the provincial level,the suggestion about “niche dislocation development”is proposed .
