Research on the Center Embedded Structure and Factors of the Global R&D Network

Abstract:The central embedding of the global R&D network is the strategic result of companies from all over the world breaking the boundaries of innovation and seeking comprehensive and in-depth cooperation and innovation.It is a hot spot of concern for industry and academia.Deep inside the hierarchical embedding of global R&D network,the paper analyzes its location structures factors,based on the data about patents which are co-invented by 63 countries regions.The research shows that at the time of general enhancement of overall scale and connection strength,the global R&D network has the strict hierarchical structure,and the location of its hierarchical embedding is not only subject to its internal subjective thoughts and objective foundations,but also impacted by its proximity environment factors such as its external language and geography and so on.Factors like nation's economic openness,intellectual property protection,R&D strength,specialized technology,geographical proximity,language proximity,etc.have compound and crossover influence on the hierarchical embedding location of the global R&D network.As an explicit vehicle for a nation's culture and custom,language proximity plays a definite positive moderate role in the effects caused by other factors on the hierarchical embedding location of the national global R&D network.
