Abstract:The paper conducts semi-structured interviews with staff from alumni associations and technology transfer departments of 10 universities.Using grounded theory and interpretive structure model (ISM),the paper analyzes the logical relationship and hierarchical structure of alumni resource factors that affect the performance of university technology transfer from the perspective of social capital theory.The case of Jiangsu University reveals the representation of the ISM model in practice.The study shows that alumni resource is an important social capital to carry out technology transfer activities.It defines the direct,indirect,basic and fundamental alumni resource factors that affect the university technology transfer,which makes a beneficial supplement for the theoretical research of university technology transfer,and provides a certain empirical basis for universities to use alumni resources to promote technology transfer performance.
