Abstract:This study introduces an integrated framework on the influence of green management and corporate social responsibility on radical innovation.We further examine the differential effects of green management and corporate social responsibility on knowledge requirement and knowledge utilization,and the mediating role knowledge management plays between green management and corporate social responsibility and radical innovation.To examine the six hypotheses proposed from the theoretical model,we collected empirical data from 165 paired bio-pharmaceutical enterprises from mainland China with two key informants for each firm,and tested the model.The findings show that both green management and corporate social responsibility are beneficial to radical innovation,knowledge acquisition mediates the effect of green management on radical innovation;whereas knowledge utilization mediates the effect of corporate social responsibility on radical innovation.By building an integrated model of the influence of green management and corporate social responsibility on radical innovation,this study is of practical importance in that it enriches practical understandings into the ways Chinese bio-pharmaceutical enterprises can utilize to better enhance and reshape competitive advantage.
