Abstract:This paper theoretically analyzes the action mechanism between regional economic integration, agglomeration of producer service industry and manufacturing industry transformation and upgrading, then selects inter-provincial panel data, and measures the theoretical hypothesis by using the mediation effect model and establishing the static and dynamic panel data model. The results show that regional economic integration not only directly affects the manufacturing transformation and upgrade, but also indirectly influences the manufacturing transformation and upgrade by influencing the agglomeration of producer services.Regional economic integration is conducive to alleviating the mismatch of factors, improving the level of technology and promoting the advanced development of manufacturing industry, but it is not conducive to the rationalization of manufacturing industry due to“blind imitation”.Producer services specialization agglomeration plays a knowledge spillover effect in the process of regional economic integration affecting manufacturing industry upgrading, and there is a partial intermediary effect. But it will compete with the manufacturing industry for labor resources, and produce a masking effect in the process of influencing the rationalization of manufacturing industry. While the producer services diversification agglomeration does not play a scale effect,so the intermediary effect is not significant.Regional heterogeneity exists in the direct effect of regional economic integration on the manufacturing industry transformation and upgrading.Regional heterogeneity and industry heterogeneity exist in the mediation effect of producer services specialization agglomeration.
