Abstract：The internationalization of Chinese seed industry has made remarkable achievements,but there is a risk of seed provenance “neck sticking”in some fields,which is rooted in the lack of international competitiveness.After the configuration analysis of the international competitiveness of seed industry in 17 countries,the study found the followings.①There are three kinds of configuration conditions of investment export type,investment leading type and production export type to enhance the international competitiveness of seed industry.②Improving the level of intellectual property protection is a necessary condition to enhance the international competitiveness of seed industry.The international layout of intellectual property,independent innovation ability and industry concentration have configuration effect on enhancing the international competitiveness of seed industry,and have potential substitution relationship with production location advantage.③As subjective controllable conditions,improving the international layout level of intellectual property,independent innovation ability and industry concentration are the effective means to enhance the international competitiveness of seed industry.Chinese seed industry should choose the path of “investment oriented”and improve its international competitiveness from four aspects simultaneously,so as to completely resolve the risk of seed provenance “neck sticking”.
