Abstract:After collecting the curriculum vitae of 149 top leaders in international organizations from different fields, this paper analyzes which factors might influence these leaders'promotion with SPSS software,in order to explore the promotion patterns within international organizations. The study finds that professional experience of leaders has a significant impact on whether they can be promoted to the top position.Leaders who grow up in international organizations can be promoted more quickly than those who follow the delegation path or government assignment path.Multi-post and cross-departmental training are a rite of passage for“top leaders”in international organizations to grow. The conclusion provides a lot of enlightenment for China's talent selection and export to international organizations and opens a new research direction.
