Abstract:The internationalization of technical standards has become an important goal of internationalization for communication enterprises,and technology introduction,collaborative R&D,and patent internationalization constitute key elements for communication enterprises to connect the internationalization path of technical standards.Based on this,empirical testing is conducted on the key elements of internationalization of technical standards using data from 76 global communication companies from 2000 to 2019.The overall regression model indicates that patent internationalization can significantly promote the improvement of the internationalization level of enterprise technology standards,with the greatest impact,followed by technology introduction,and the role of cooperative R&D is uncertain.From the perspective of technology sources,compared to cross-border technology introduction and collaborative R&D,domestic enterprises' technology introduction and collaborative R&D are more conducive to enhancing their standard competitiveness,indicating that cross-border technology introduction and collaborative R&D have the characteristic of“outsider disadvantage”.From the perspective of enterprise categories,the regression results of technology leading enterprises and enterprises belonging to developed countries indicate that the impact of patent internationalization is the most prominent.However,enterprises belonging to developing countries have a significantly negative effect on technology introduction,indicating that technology introduction may not necessarily be a“shortcut”to standard internationalization for developing country enterprises in technology catch-up.
