Abstract:In today's“diploma society”,“first degree”has become an important measure of a person's value.As academicians are the top talents in undertaking national scientific research tasks and solving major scientific problems,it is of great significance to pay attention to their academic background and work situation for the selection of outstanding scientific research talents in China.Taking the academicians in the university system from 2011 to 2023 as the research objects,this paper analyzes their first academic background and growth process.It is found that the first degree has no significant impact on the growth cycle of academicians;receiving higher-level education is an important way to make up for the shortcoming of the first degree;diversified higher education background is an advantageous condition to become academicians.The conclusions and recommendations have enlightening significance for early cultivation and effective selection of high-level scientific and technological leaders,and for accelerating the construction of a high-level talent highland.
