The Relationship among R&D Input,Technical Ability,and the Output Performance——Bbased on Pavitt Industry Classification

Abstract：R&D input on the influence of the enterprise output performance has been attented by the domestic and international academic circles,but the research conclusion is inconsistent This paper,based on the domestic and foreign literature study,the technical ability as intermediary variable,to construct the model of R&D input on the performance of enterprise output,data from the China Science and Technology Statistics Yearbook (2000—2009) of large and medium sized enterprise of 28 tested industries,found that,in the whole,technical ability of manufacturing industry played on intermediary role between the R&D input and output According to Pavitt innovation industry classification,manufacturing industry into four categories,research found that the technical ability of scale intensive industries,professional supplier industry have intermediary effect,and having full mediating effect,technical ability of supplier leading industry,science based industry have not intermediary effect Finally author puts forward some suggestions
