Abstract：This research focuses on the selection of independent innovation or imitative innovation of the technology post-developed countries.From the view of evolution, this paper analyses the evolutionary properties of technological progress strategy based on relevant literature.Constructing the evolutionary model, it found out the adaptability of intercluster and intracluster technological progress strategy respectively.It analyses the evolutionary mechanism of the process from imitative innovation to independent innovation and finally verifies the rationality and necessity of the result that China prefers to choose independent innovation strategy in a competitive global economy.
