Abstract:By comparing the SMEs with an entrepreneur having experience of studying aboard(ie:oversea returnees enterprises,ORE)with the SMEs without(ie:non-oversea returnees enterprises,NORE),this article intents to shed light on the influence of entrepreneurs’ experience of studying aboard on the entrepreneurial activities of SMEs in high-tech industry. After analyzing the performance of two different kinds of high-tech enterprises,we obtained the conclusion that there is no significant difference between the growth of ORE and NORE,but there are significant differences in the characteristics of the entrepreneur, the institutional arrangements of organization and the utilizations of social resource in those two kinds of SMEs.Generally speaking, entrepreneurs’ experience of studying aboard plays a positive role on starting a new business, utilizing multinational resources and government resources, but there still is much room for improvement in the utilization of native resources.
