Abstract:The generic technology has great impact on promoting industrial technology capability and industry industry.By using the method of co-occurrence network,the patents data of technology frontiers during the periods of 1986 to 2011 for biology industries are analyzed in order to select the generic technology in biology industries.The result shows that the generic technologies for biology industries consist of pharmaceutical,chemical,measuring instruments and medical equipment.Moreover,the scope and strength of co-occurrence of pesticides,agricultural chemicals,textiles,chemicals,food and beverage and special machinery are increasing consistently,showing that these technologies are potentially growing to be generic technology in biology industries
