Abstract：Based on the analysis of the problems incurred by traditional cost management methods in iron and steel industry,this study discussed the characteristics as well as the advantages of applying lean production cost management.It investigated every potential cost optimization aspects in iron and steel industry,and built the mathematical model and algorithm of the key process of raw materials regarding to reducing production cost.Finally the cost optimization strategies of iron and steel enterprises under lean production systems were proposed to promote the sustainable development of iron and steel enterprises as well as the industrial transformation and upgrading
