Abstract：In recent years,as one of the important tools of demand-side innovation policy,government procurement has been remained at the core of the demand-side innovation programs implemented in various countries. This paper illustrates the basic principles of government procurement for independent innovation,discusses feasibility and policy suggestion based on the current situation of government procurement policies in the process of improving independent innovation in China
