Abstract:The impact of external social capital on radical innovation is explored based on learning from failures as an intermediary variables in the context of open innovation.Hypotheses were test by using correlation analysis,multiple regression analysis and mediating effect test according to the survey data from aerospace companies located in Shanghai and Nanjing.The results reveal that external structural capital and external relational capital have not only a direct effect on radical innovation,but also an indirect effect through learning from failures
