Abstract：From the perspective of patent information benchmarking and taking the Japanese robot industry as a target,the paper compares with the differences between Chinese and Japanese robot industry development.It finds that the Chinese robot industry has huge gaps in the industrial development stage,technological innovation capability and the technology maturity compared to Japan.The Chinese robot industry has great development potential and space in the future,but it lacks core technology,the key technology to be broken,the technology innovation system based on university,so it should be resolved from the aspects of supporting policies,the reconstruction of the technological innovation system and the cultivation of the leading enterprises of the industry
