Abstract:The scientific community awards have larger authority and social influence in the academic peers, industry field and the whole society, which represents a higher level of the social power science and technology awards. The awards in science and technology of the societies under the China Association for Science and Technology are the main body and typical demonstration of the scientific community awards, which had set 108 awards by 207 associations, accounted for 49 percents of the whole social power science and technology awards.Compared with the other social power science and technology awards, the awards in science and technology of the societies have many significant advantages such as undertaking the government transfer functions, recommending national science and technology award directly and having a larger social influence. But,the awards in science and technology of the societies also have much inadequacy in award quantity, international openness, award way, review process, award management, social perception.Promoting the awards in science and technology of the societies better needs government,CAST and association to strive together. The government department should transform function to giving a bigger development space for the association awards. The CAST should guide actively and support vigorously. The association awards should strengthen the management and expand the influence
