The Strategic Evaluation and Driving Countermeasures for China's 3D Printing Patent Industrialization ——A Positivistic Case Study Based on SWOT Analysis

Abstract:In the background of emerging technology management and patent industrialization,3D printing has its special value to be researched.This research is focused on finding out and evaluating the opportunities and obstacles factors of China's 3D printing patent industrialization and proposing effective driving strategies for the industry.Combining with enterprise case study and expert consultant,this research expands the application of qualitative and quantitative SWOT model to the area of patent industrialization evaluation thus to enrich the connotation of SWOT model.We find that the status quo of China's 3D printing industry should undertake WO strategy which means a relatively conservative way with adjustment considering its internal and external environment.Regarding the suggested strategy,several driving countermeasures like building up patent stereo-portfolio protection strategy,cultivating the ability of universities' patent industrialization and promoting the construction of technical standard and IP risks prevention-control mechanism for 3D printing industry development in China have been proposed.
